Our charity partner this year is Hope Pastures, based in Meanwood, who rescue and rehabilitate horses and donkeys. Visitors are welcome to visit the sanctuary for free. They host lots of events across the year from charity dog walks, pony days and tack sales. Thank you to all of our customers who have helped to raise funds by visiting our events and donating money. So far this year we have raised £1,000 through our Easter Chocolate event and Mothers Day Pampering event. We have also supported the charity at their dog and horse show where they recently raised a fantastic £4,200! Hope Pastures Our Christmas Magical Maze will be returning once again this year and all proceeds will be donated to Hope Pastures. The charity receives kind donations of knitted donkeys, which are sold at shows across the year to help raise money. If you are interested in knitting one you will find the pattern on our website. We are also looking to host a knitting drop in session on the every Tuesday at The Light. You can drop in enjoy a brew, chat to fellow knitters and help a local charity. If you are interested in attending then please email stephanie@thelightleeds.co.uk Here at The Light, we understand the trials and tribulations of adult life, which is why we decided that it was time for adults to forget all their responsibilities for a few short minutes by hosting various pop-up Adult Playground events. Hosted over the summer, the 18+ only playgrounds allowed holders of our Light Card to indulge in some fun by challenging themselves on different inflatable total wipeout-style games, before kicking back on our deck chairs with a free alcoholic Hundreds turn out for a whizz around our Adult Playground! beverage and hot dog. Taking place on the Courtyard The Light will play host to an amazing illuminated maze, which is just one of the many fantastic ‘art in the dark’ installations found across the city. The installation is 2.5 metres high of acrylic glass and the panels reflect or shift light rays along the entire colour range of a rainbow while the spectator moves in the installation. Designed by Ben Busche, Brux Deluxe. Wrap up warm grab the kids and treat them to a night of pure illuminated magic.
